tight timekeeper (2009-06-29)
Overall I really love this watch so far. Very light weight, functions are easy to use, and the atomic timekeeping/solar aspects are perfect. I always went analog in the past and I wasn't sure if I really wanted to go digital. I actually loved that right from the beginning, doubt I will ever go back to analog except for a dress watch. It is so easy to read this watch, even under water. I got this mainly for the solar aspect and the toughness, but I love the way it looks as well. Actually a little smaller than my last casio, but that's no big deal. It is plenty big enough.

The only problem I have really had is that the part of the band where you tuck the excess band underneath slips down on occasion. This allows that extra band length to dangle out and it bugs the heck out of me because it starts hitting things immediately (like the butt of my rod while I am fishing). It may just be getting broken in, if not I will try to concoct something to keep it in place. Never had that issue with my other casio's.

Other than that small issue I love this watch and would highly recommend it.

i really enjoy this watch, just wish the face was gray and the light was red.

G-shock tough (2009-05-30)
i work in a muddy, wet and dusty environment, the casio mudman made sense. easy to read, watch face doesn't scratch, and the band and case keep the watch and buttons well protected. this is my first solar atomic and i like the time keeping accuracy. the only problem was the flimsy box and packing it was shipped from amazon in.

Typical G-Shock durability and reliability (2009-05-21)
Anyone who has ever owned a G-Shock watch knows they are built like a tank. My "Mudman" was running when I got it, and after figuring out the instructions (they are a bit obtuse), I had it autodetect the time and date. Worked perfectly! One thing I did notice was this G-Shock was a bit lighter than the previous ones I had owned. And the watchband seemed a bit thinner and more flexible than previous G-Shock watches. I assume the lighter watch weight is due to advancements in watch design. I hope the watchband is as durable as previous ones, though. Amazon ordering was fast and efficient. It arrived MUCH sooner than the estimate Amazon provided. Well done Amazon!!! And a great watch!!!

An Awesome Piece of Geekery (2009-05-09)
But also a practical, rugged tool. I'm a huge fan of this watch. I have a 1/2 dozen or so watches I rotate for various occasions, and was in the market for a practical dress down watch. I have a chunky Swatch that was doing this duty, however it is analogue, somewhat inaccurate, not lit or louminous, only water resist and the leather strap has a tendency to get smelly after sweating.

I was in the market for a rugged Caiso G-Shock and this model proved to be the one I wanted. Maintenance-free, always available. Cheap enough to not mind destroying or having it stolen, rugged and casual enough to probably avoid both problems.

One thing to point out if you are not aware, the button covers are very stiff and would not be easy to operate with gloves or impared/weak fingers.
